Ok, after doing some search on Google on how other open source Palm sync software did it, they just issued a "dlp_ReadSysInfo" command. I'll try this later when I get back at home (I don't have my sync cable right now) and if it works on a new and old Palm device. If it works, I'll submit a patch. -- Gideon N.
