I suspect that the engine fails to match the change on the left side with the change on the right side, since the symptomns fit perfectly. If it cannot match a change it will just propagate it to the other side which in this case results in duplication. if it cannot match a deleted object, well... it cannot do anything. The thing is that im currently working on multisync-0.90 which is a complete rewrite of the syncengine. The release target is around february next year.
