hi,

i played a little bit around and found out that the syncml-http-server
plugin use the libsoup2.2-7 from debian but i cant remove it because
evolution depends on it. how can i bring the plugin to use the patched
libsoup library?
i hope it will sync then... ;)

dont count on it. i guess thats the hard part of being a beta tester :)

install the patched libsoup using a special --prefix (i use for example:
--prefix=/home/abauer/testdir). then do this:
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/home/abauer/testdir/lib/pkgconfig

then pkconfig will pick up the modifed version

im sure that the phone connects to the server.

hi,

could it be that you had multisync running as well at this point? The
ethereal log clearly shows that you connect to port 5079 while opensync
is listening on 9999. (Load the log, click on the first "[SYN]" packet
and then in the "Transmission Control Protocol" line it shows the ports
of this packet.

So please make sure that you enter the port 9999 on the phone or that
you reconfigure the syncml-http-server plugin to listen on 5079.

hi armin,

a have attached a new ethereal file. i changed the ip in my handy to
192.168.0.1 instead of 192.168.0.2. (now a little bit more data will
sended, but the packages was routed right so far)(sorry that was a
mistack from me)
you will see that after package 9 no more data will be transmitted up to
an timeout (RST). then i ctrl-c to exit the "msynctool --sync nokia
--wait", could that the problem that there are no more log-data
available.
in my handy i couldn't enter an url so i leave the field in the
configuration file of synml-http-server empty, right?
i get the same result when i aktivate the http-authentification in my
handy.

have i to do more configurations for syncml-http-server?

ah no. sorry forgot to tell you:
the syncml http server plugin is a "server" plugin which means that it
cannot be told to synchronize directly. instead you have to start the
server so it starts to listen for incoming connections.

so instead of msynctool --sync nokia use this command:
msynctool --sync nokia --wait

then the command line tool should start up but not synchronize. Then as
soon as you connect with the mobile the synchronization should start.

daniel

Did you also install ?
On my system, 'make install' installs stuff in
        /usr/local/lib/multisync

Could you check whether the libraries are correctly named?
Some older versions of libtool didn't name the shared libraries
right. They didn't have ".so" in their name.
If that happens, you could manually rename them, e.g.
        mv libevolution2_sync libevolution2_sync.so

Danny

that shouldnt be a problem with opensync anymore :)

hi i am again ;)

i patched the syncml_plugin.c :
smlAuthSetVerifyCallback(env->auth,(SmlAuthVerifyCb) _verify_user, env);

and now all things are built

but :)
when i click on options in multisync when i choosed the
syncml-http-server plugin nothing happened.
i got this console output:
Unable to find MSyncPlugin!!!

this means that i didnt write a gui yet for the syncml plugin. so you
have to use the msynctool (the command line client)

please take a look at this: http://www.opensync.org/wiki/SetupGuide
configure your syncgroup like in this example but instead of using the
evo2 plugin, use the syncml-http-server plugin.

an example config could look like this:
<config><username>test</username><password>test</password><url>/test</url><port>9999</port></config>

but it is possible that it wont work correctly since password checking
is enabled at the moment so i can test against the syncml conformance
test suite. Ill correct this today and then release an updated version.
Until then, please use the username and password "test".

autoreconf: /usr/bin/autoconf failed with exit status: 1

so i think i need more detailed instructions ;)

ok :)

i forgot to add the Check macro to acinclude.m4. please do a svn up,
this should be fixed now.

i did not include autogen.sh because its useless on modern machines. all
it does is calling autoreconf. so the correct order is:

autoreconf -sfi
./configure --prefix=/some/path
make
make install

hi,

you can download libsyncml from http://svn.opensync.org/libsyncml/trunk
using subversion.

then you need a patched libsoup (the http library) from
http://svn.opensync.org/libsoup/trunk

i recommend installing both with a different --prefix so i does not
interfere with other installed libraries. Then you can do:
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=$prefix/lib/pkgconfig
so pkgconfig picks up the new packages.

the syncml plugin can be found at http://svn.opensync.org/plugins/syncml.

this setup should already work for http synchronization. if you phone
just supports wbxml (most phones do) you will need to install libwbxml
(your distro should have it)

Let me know how it goes or if you need more detailed instructions :)
