First of all my thanks to multisync developers, great program. But I have the following problem. I'm trying to use my mobile phone SonyEricsson T630 with MultiSync.
So I have IrMC plugin installed. I lost some time because the module was unable to find my phone via irda, without any messages. Finally phone is identified. In "options/bug workarounds" I set charset option to UTF-7 value (really I don't know which charset phone uses but I found this value in backup files after my first IrMC->Backup run). Really these files have UTF-7 encoding and I'm able to read them using iconv or any tool. Next I tried to synchronize T630 with Evolution - all entries in addressbook are broken, as I see all of them have incorrect names. As I understand they aren't converted from UTF-7 to UTF-8 at all and are displayed as is: +BBoEQwRHBDUEQAQ1BD0EOgQ+... What's wrong? Why no conversion occured during synchronization? I tried to test in back direction. So I created new entry in Evo's addressbook with name in Russian and started synchronization. All is OK! I see this entry in my phonebook and the name is displayed correctly in the phone. I don't know whether conversion occurs while syncronizing Evo->IrMC (i.e. UTF-8 -> UTF-7) or my phone is able to display vCards in UTF-8 encoding. I changed this test entry in mobile phone (just added some phone number) and re-syncronized again. And I see this entry broken in Evolution. Used versions are: Debian/stable, libmultisync-plugin-backup 0.82-5 libmultisync-plugin-evolution 0.82-5 libmultisync-plugin-irmc 0.82-5 libmultisync-plugin-irmc-bluet 0.82-5 multisync 0.82-5 Can anyone help me? Any information is highly appreciated. PS: is it possible to synchronize T630 addressbook with Thunderbird? Is there any application to browse files in T630 for Linux via irda, to manage phone book and calendar entries? I can't find any application in my Debian distribution.
