----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on MumbaiUserGroup
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Tamanna27 Message 1 in Discussion Hi All, I am using .NET Remoting to develop a chat application The chat server exposes a remote object and listens on a specific port (8050). TCPChannel is used for communication between client and server. The application works fine in most of the cases. However when the server is run on a machine (network disabled and connected to internet via dial up connection) and the client (using internet sharing i.e internet access through proxy) connects to the server is unable to receive any messages sent. I have made use of delegates to pass the messages from server to the client. I have attached the sample application. Start the server application first. Then start the client application and specify the NAME and the PORT as 0 (zero) and click on connect. Then to send the message, in the TARGET field enter the NAME (as specified before) and click SEND. If the message is sent properly it must be seen in the last text box in the client screen.
