The problem is... there is no script based api to check if the cookies are enabled or not (to my knowledge ofcourse). What we had to do is to set a cookie on a page, redirect to a check page and see whether a "cookie" that was intended to be set, has been set and a certain value is readable in the check page. if yes cookies are enabled, if not .... At that time ( i think even now) this was the only method possible but it was stable, and we managed to get the ball rolling.
