----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on MumbaiUserGroup
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Niranjan Message 3 in Discussion Hi Thank you for your reply. Sir, Microsoft .NET provides cache objects for caching web page and application data i.e. DataSet objects or any other object. HttpCachePolicy instance is used for Web page caching while Cache class instance is used for application data caching. These two objects are encapsulated in Page class and directly available to the user of aspx page. i.e. user means developer working on aspx page. But there scope is limited to single application domain. Now in my application, my client could be windows as well as web base application so I require caching mechanism needs to support across application domain. Microsoft cache application block provides the said functionality. Along with this one of the requirement is MRU scavenging mechanism. Now Microsoft application block rovides LRU scavenging, then I need to implement the MRU and extend the application block. I am in search of the component that has already implemented the MRU scavenging mechanism. and thats where my question is actually targetting. Second part, Window based caching, May I ask you how you have implemented the same. I am aware of one technique using HttpRuntime instance creation. But obviously curious in knowing the alternative from you.
