Hi  The way in which you are thinking is right, you can speed up the application by 
eliminating the excessive loops,iterations and serialization processs just by passing 
xml output by sql server to the web service caller. but. but development is not 
faster. you will have to convert xml output of your query to SOAP format using XSLT. 
for that you must have good knowledge of SOAP and XSLT. you get the specifications
