But what I understood is you have Trial Version of MS Virtual PC, Currently you have Windows 2000 installed on your system, You want to add one one more physical hard dirve to the windows 2000 system which will store the .VHD file of windows 2003 PC, You want Install Windows 2003 in Virtual PC. And you seem to have following query what will happen to Existing Windows 2000 Partition when Virtual PC Trial Version will Expire? Well, as per my experience I don't think you will need to format your windows 2000 partition after the Virual PC Trial version expires. You only need to uninstall the Trail Version of Virtual PC Software. But if your original windows 2000 partition gets damaged inbetween then you might have to reformat your partition. In my opinion, Add One Physical Hard Drive, make sure it is usable in windows 2000. When you will create Virtual PC store the respective .VHD fille on newly added drive. And enjoy working on virtual pc without any problems. When Virtual PC expires just uninstall it and you can remove your extra hard drive and continue working with windows 2000.
