Hi,
We have a developed a VB.NET application for our company. The thing is we first
used to prepare the deployment package and used uoinstall
it on the client machine. The Deployment was perfect and the app would run
perfectly.
But as the number of users are increasing and as the network engineers find it
difficult to go at every location to insatll and make changes
we have made a policy desicion that we would keep the application exe on a
network share and just create a shortcut instead of deploying the whole package.
For this We created the assembly strong name and also signed our assemblies
with the key.
This we did with the Microsoft .Net COnfiguration window by setting the machine
level policy.
This we have tried on 2 or 3 development machines which has got .Net installed
on it
On these machine we have the .net Confuguration window and can set the policy
easily
But if we have to access the app exe on a 98 machine which has just the client
tools installed
I get a security exception as no policy has been set. On 98 client we dnt have
the .Net Configuration window
So in these case can any one help me n tell how to set the machine policy so
that my application runs from a network share.
