For ex. in ASP type, usually, all your HTML, logic and SQLs are all mixed up. Same with VB. but even there, if there is enough of discpline and style (grace), these 3 elements can be separated and each, GUI (HTML), business logic and Database (SQL) can be thought of 3 blocks. In Dot net, it is simplified because of OO support. The other thing people rather want is modules/sub-modules of the project, like how financial accounting, order processing and inventory are seperated and interact with each other. Inspite of all this, I really want someone else who asks this questions in interviews, rather answer this.
