I think not limit or upto MaxValue of long or int(datatype of
DataSet.Tables.Count property)!!!! It just depends on the memory u
have....!!!
BTW, how many tables u r planning to add into a Dataset....
I just created a sample app and tried to add int32.MaxValue datatables
containing just one column with just one row in it. I started that
program one hour back.. and is still running.... no exception!!!!!!
here is the code:
public long CreateDataSetWithMaxTables() {
DataSet dt = new DataSet("MyDataSet");
long rowCount = 0;
try {
for(rowCount = 0; rowCount <= Int32.MaxValue ;
rowCount++) {
DataTable dTable = new
DataTable("MyTable" + rowCount.ToString());
DataColumn dColumn = new
DataColumn("MyColumn");
dTable.Columns.Add(dColumn);
DataRow row = dTable.NewRow();
row["MyColumn"] = 11;
dt.Tables.Add(dTable);
}
}
catch(Exception e) {
Console.WriteLine(e.Message);
return rowCount;
}
return rowCount;
}
just call this method from the Main method and see what count it
returns on your machine.
