My Few
Comments.
1. If its VB.NET encourage users to use
Option Strict and Explicit
2. Instead of IF encourage users to use Case
statements
3. Encourage programmers to use WebForms for
frontend functionality , .NET components for business layer and Stored
Procedures instead of multiple SQL statements.
4. Exceptions Are for Exceptional
Circumstances: Don't throw exceptions as a means of communicating between
components—use events for that. Exceptions should not be thrown in cases where
completely expected results occur. For example, a component that reads text
files should not throw an exception when it reaches the end of the file. This
is
a case where an event would be appropriate.
5. Frequently used design patterns at UI
level are MVC ( Model-View-Controler) ( An article on the same
