Dear all, I have tried to implement .NET Remoting in my VB.NET project. My
question is "Do i have to take a reference of my server application in my
client application? i.e., Do i have to Import my Server Application in my
Client Application? or do i have to make any changes in the code written below"
In my server application i have done the following: 1. Referenced the
System.Runtime.Remoting 2. Imports System.Runtime.Remoting Imports
System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels Imports
System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp 3. Inherits MarshalByRefObject 4. Sub
main()
System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingConfiguration.Configure(AppDomain.CurrentDomain.SetupInformation.ConfigurationFile,
True) End Sub 5. In app.config - >
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<configuration>
<system.runtime.remoting>
<application>
<service>
<wellknown mode="Singleton" objectUri="libBLAccounts.rem" type="libBLAccounts,
libBLAccounts" />
</service>
<channels>
<channel ref="tcp" port="49341" />
</channels>
</application>
</system.runtime.remoting>
</configuration> In my Client application i have done the following: 1.
Imports System.Runtime.Remoting Imports System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels
Imports System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp 2. Public Shared Sub Main()
System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingConfiguration.Configure("frmCompanyMaster.exe.config",
True) End Sub 'Main 3. In app.config
<system.runtime.remoting>
<application>
<client>
<wellknown type="libBLAccounts, libBLAccounts"
url="tcp://Swimmy:49341/libBLAccounts.rem" />
</client>
</application>
</system.runtime.remoting>
Kindly help me with this.
Thanking you.
Sincerely,
Swimmy
