I heard that .NET is platform independent, but having doubt on
the files created during compilation, .NET framework will create .exe files
which may not run under other platform environment, for now .NET is not really
cross platform like java where we can just copy the .class file to other OS.
There is development going on for Cross Platform Development of .NET. But Its
not like Java. Currently it is Indepent on Windows OS. But you can not run on
Windows 95. NET is designed to be platform independent. However,
there needs to be a version of the .NET framework installed on the target
computer. There is currently a project known as Mono that has created a C# .NET
Framework for Linux. for more information about mono please visit
http://www.mono-project.com/Main_Page Even though above facts I am
personally fan of .NET Framework, and as .NET 3.0 is coming I even started
loving it ;), You will be able to create a gr8 simply gr8 UI with XAML based
Tools like Expression Suit. But Hye again Question remains the same is it
truely Platform Independent ? Regards Nilesh Joshi
