Time: 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM Speaker: Amol Vaidya
Consultant Amol started off in the field of computing in the year 1988 while
schooling when his father gifted
him with a ZX Spectrum home computer. Thats when he developed a keen interest
in programming and started developing applications on the home computer. A
couple of years later he enrolled for a Diploma in Computer Studies, validated
by the University of Cambridge, Local Examinations Syndicate, UK at Informatics
Computer Institute at Churchgate, Mumbai. He was selected on merit and was
given the opportunity to work as a Jr. Instructor when he was still studying at
the institute. Thats when he realized his skills as an instructor and went on
to become a full time trainer at the same place. At Informatics, Amol was
involved with conducting training on Computer Fundamentals, MSDOS, dBase,
Lotus, Wordstar and then moved on to languages like BASIC, Pascal, COBOL and C.
He used to also conduct programs on Microsoft Windows 3.0/ 3.1 / 3.11 and
Windows 9x and on office suites such as Microsoft Office and Lotus SmartSuite.
After
working there from 1991 to 1997 he moved on to join Synergetics, a company
focussed on providing developer based training. At Synergetics, Amol was
initially conducting training programs for corporate customers on Windows NT
3.51 and 4.0. He was also handling the internal network of the organization.
Moving ahead he was entrusted with the responsibility of conducting trainings
on VB 6.0 / IIS / HTML / ASP / COM concepts / MTS and XML and he later moved
ahead to the .NET platform where he started concentrating on developing and
training on Windows Forms, ASP.NET, WebServices, Enterprise Services
components, Office 11 VSTO and Compact Framework with VB.NET and C# skills. He
also moved into the direction of Microsoft Server products such as Site Server
3.0 CE, Microsoft Application Center Server 2000, Microsoft BizTalk Server
2000, 2002 and 2004, SharePoint Portal Server 2001 and 2003 and Windows Server
2003. He was elevated to the role of a First Lead and then to Training
Specialist. At the time of leaving Synergetics, in 2005, Amol was designated
as Manager, Research and Innovation. Today Amol works as a freelance trainer
and concentrates on conducting training programs and providing solutions on
Microsoft products. During recent times, he has been involved in the ISV
Program for Microsoft, India and has been conducting sessions on NET Framework
3.0, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 and MOSS 2007.
Apart from that he has been speaking at Microsoft Communites in Mumbai and Pune.
. Session: Windows Workflow Foundation
Abstract: A new XML-based language XAML is commonly used for declaring the
structure of a workflow. However, the workflow may also be expressed in code
using any NET-targeted language (like
C#). Workflows comprise 'activities'. Developers can write their own
domain-specific activities and then use them in workflows. WF also provides a
set of general-purpose 'activities' that cover several control flow constructs.
Time: 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM Speaker: Nauzad Kapadia [Microsoft MVP]
Quartz Systems Nauzad Kapadia started programming when he was 17,
and since the last 10 years has progressed from FoxBase to .NET. He runs a
company called Quartz Systems which is mostly involved in high-end corporate
trainings and consulting for companies like Citibank, Rediff, Boston
Scientific, Datamatics, Tata Interactive etc. Although he has done quite a bit
of Java and Linux, it's really VB that gets him in the groove. Nauzad also
leads the academic initiatives of INETA (International .NET Association) for
the Asia Pacific region. He is highly excited by bikes, rock music, programming
and pizzas.... not necessarily in that order!
