DBCC ShrinkDatabase: This enable us to shrink our database accordingly to the
specified percentage. considering my realtime scenario like, Am having a
database with 10MB and am having datas of around 2 MB then the excessive space
can be utilised by other database or by other processess. This can be achieved
by our DBCC command. The syntax is DBCC
SHRINKDATABASE(Databasename,targetpercentage,TRUNCATEONLY)
               DBCC SHRINKDATABASE(Databasename,targetpercentage,NOTRUNCATE)
The Option Truncate only -> relieves the free space to the Operating system.
NoTruncate -> relives the free space for other database file. DBCC
shrinkdatabase can be done only by the dbo or sysadmin.
Example: DBCC SHRINKDATABASE(VENKAT,10,TRUNCATEONLY)
          DBCC SHRINKDATABASE(VENKAT,10,NOTRUNCATE)
Targetpercentage: Amount of free space to be left for the database after
shrinking the database. Regards,
Venkatesan Prabu. J
