Collation: Its the standard followed in writing the queries or instruction
provided to the compiler like case sensitiveness, accent sensitiveness, width
sensitiveness and language standard to be followed. Consider an example,
Latin1_General_CI_AI - This indicates that the language should follow Latin
general with the standards,
Case insensitiveness - CI
Accent insensitiveness - AI
Latin1_General_CI_AI_WS - his indicates that the language should follow Latin
general with the standards,
Case insensitiveness - CI
Accent insensitiveness - AI
Width sensitiveness - WS fn_helpcollations - This function will return
all the list of collation supported along with the descriptions.
You can retrieve the datas using the below query,
select * from fn_helpcollations()
The above query will return two datas,
1. Collation name its of type sysname
2. Description its of type varchar(1000)
