I did some further testing. The daemon did not crash when I first started the machine and then connected the smartcard. The daemon also crashes when I start it up manually with an attached smartcard.
The pcsd does not crash when I connect the GEM-PC430 after the daemon has started.
I then tested the supplied pcscd on another machine, with /usr/local/pcsc copied to get the GEM driver and the smartcard bundles. That one also did not crash.
After that, I copied the pcscd daemon from 10.2.4 and the PCSC framework from 10.2.4 to the crashing machine. Still no avail.
