Not exactly, Andreas I'm only technical person, but from inside the picture is the following: 1) Drivers in Linux are written, but release is postponed for the reason, opposite that you remind: we wait for the version to be released together with Windows version, since this way it is easier to maintanence 2) As you wrote, we use format different from PKCS#15 (for many reasons - too long to describe here and not so relevant). So you need either PKCS#11 module from Aladdin or to re-format token as you want (by sending APDU of Siemens CardOS). 3) I don't know whether PKCS#11 will be included in Linux release. It is planned, but it is not top-priority and we will not postpone release for this purpose. 4) The really painful question will be issue of Open Source. Since we try to write most of our code portable between Windows and Linux, to open Linux code means to open significant parts of Windows code. Since almost 100% of our market is Windows I am not sure it will be done (at least now), although a bit restricted version of drivers has been prepared to be supplied with sources (the main restriction is that only eToken Pro are supported, not eToken R2). At least not with open source software. Ask Aladdin for drivers, maybe they have finished their stuff. (Some rumor told me they don't want to release their linux stuff because they don't want to support it.) To install certificates under linux and use them: - goto http://etoken.sf.net. follow the link to the opensc shapshot. Download, compile, install - see docs/usbtoken.html for instructions how to setup usbtoken driver - use the README i sent you earlier to format the token. - install opensc-pkcs.so in mozilla - use it, report problems on opensc-devel.
