Dear All,

We are using the Gempc 410 readers, pcsc-lite middleware on Redhat linux.

Can you please let me know

1. If any ports are opened by the pcsc-lite resource manager?

As far as the driver is concerned, it uses the tty of the serial port you connect the reader on. The resource manager uses named pipes I think.

2. Does this pcsc-lite continously poll the reader to get the status of the
card (or) is it running in an interrupted mode

It polls.

4. What will be the communication protocol between the reader and the host
machine.

The protocols are proprietary (apart from CCID USB readers).

Cheers,
JLuc.
