Two possible reasons why you cannnot get the connect facility to indicate success:
(1) the reader cannot interface to the musclecard (e.g. the ACS readers cannot
interface to my custom SC16/javacards either, even though tokens(1) can
query the reader firmware ok during ListTokens().)
(2) the xml libraries in muscle are not configured to identify the default
application aid on the musclecard given the ATR, or the card is not authorizing the
particular secure channel access to that application.
No point doing a format(1) until you can at least connect(1).
