In spain, the government is starting to promote cryptografic cards for
electronic sign and web authentication. The problem is always the same: The
cryptografic kit (reader, card and CD) become with a CD-ROM filled with
Windows software :(

The reader is provided by a private company is a ccid complaint device and
work sucessfully with the ccid driver. The pcsc daemon it seems to work.

The smartcard subject is more complicated. The card is provided by public
administration. I haven't to get any technical information about this at this
moment. The only thing that i know about card is this stract from webpage:
(http://www.cert.fnmt.es/pilotos/tarjeta.htm in spanish)

More important characteristics:

card1:
Chip: SLE66CX320P
        CPU 16 bits
        64Kb ROM for executable code
        256bytes internal RAM + 2Kbytes extended RAM
        32Kb EEPROM
Operating System: FN19
32Kb EEPROM for applications, 16Kb may be for OS extending
        ISO-7816-1/2/3

card2:
Chip: ST19XL34V2
        CPU 8 bits
        96Kbytes ROM
        4Kbytes RAM
        34KBytes EEPROM
Advanced hardware crypto-processor
Operating System: CERES2:
        32Kbytes EEPROM
        ISO-7816-1/2/3
        Command interface ISO7816-4

I don't known which of two cards i have. I don't known if is necessary extra
software ir order to communicate with the OS card.

I don't understand the muscleframework concept. Is necesary a driver for the
card, in addition to ccid driver?

All cards follow a communication standard? Is necesary a communication module
between OS card and muscleframework?

I have read everything i have found. But every time i am more confused @:/

Somebody can clarify some of these doubts. Or recommend to me any magical
documentation wich to understand all these concepts.

Regards,
        Israel.
