I have been working on smart card realted projects for quite a long time but basically on a standalone system which is connected to single system either by USB Or serial port/PCSC compatability.
I would like to seek information on Smart card readers attached in paralell which can work on network. ie a number of readers connected to a T dispenser and to a single connector which will be finally connected to the main server.
I have already see TCP/IP readers but I don't remember where.
Perhaps someone on the mailing list has a link?
Moreover I think these readers don't have ifdhandler for PC/SC Lite (i.e. driver).
In the "Java Card Grid" project [1, 2] we lead at the LaBRI we use USB readers connected by USB hubs to have a single connector to the main server.
A problem of this solution is that the wire and the readers are mixed and this is not nice as you can see on the pictures [3].
The better solution we have found is the Smartmount 8R-USB [4] connected to an USB hub. I have not test it but it is based on the SCR 333 (from SCM Microsystems) and this reader is CCID compliant. Thus I think that the CCID generic driver [5] from Ludovic may work.
I will test the SCR 333 in the next days since I have get one yesterday.
The subject of your mail contains the word "contactless" but in the mail I don't see any reference to the contactless aspect also the solution above is not based on contactless readers.
I know only one contactless reader that works on PC/SC Lite: SCR 331-DI [6]. It used the CCID generic driver.
