On the Mac, you need to use /System/Library/StartupItems/.

You can see what is in these folders for a guidance. The .pkg installer on Musclecard does create a SmartCardServices folder.

On Panther, the relevant resources already exist in /usr/libexec/SmartCardServices/StartupItem/

It might just be a question of symlinking the SmartCardServices to /System/Library/StartupItems/.

Hi,

Does anyone know how to configure the pcscd (e.g., which files should be copied and where to) on Mac OS X so that it would start running immediately upon system startup? (On Linux the /etc/init.d/ and /etc/rcX.d/ directories are used, but I didnt find them on the Mac).

Thanks,
Amira.
