For this reader (as well as for other CCID readers) you get to choose your driver on Mac OS X:
1- the mainstream one: http://pcsclite.alioth.debian.org/ccid.html
2- mine: http://homepage.mac.com/jlgiraud/ifd-CCID/ifd-CCID.html
1- is probably more tested and has more features but 2- has the advantage of not requiring the installation of libusb (it uses the Mac OS X native USB API).
