as you have a TA 1 in the ATR and a TA3 , i thought of a bug as there was one in the 410 , but for the gemtwin , i don t think there is any , i would try with a card without any ta1 , just to check , that it s not a pps pb , does it connect without the card and SHARE_DIRECT ???

Where the parameters are: reader = Gemplus USB Smart Card Reader 0 PCSC.SHARE_EXCLUSIVE = 1 PCSC.PROTOCOL_ANY = -2147483648
