If the PDU indicated to the CCID functional unit through SCardControl() has Case 1 form, the driver intercepts the escape action, generating results on the PC only.

Else, the driver communicates the CCID-formatted escape data to the USB protocol handler, for transmission over the bus (presumably).

Is this arrangement an industry accepted practice, with or without Microsoft/PCSC endorsement?
