Isn't it? Finally, rigid filtering by the whole ATR sequence keeps
more cards than potentially capable from working with the
muscleframework. The real key for 'to be or not to be', is the AID
not the ATR.
e-gate ATR 3B 75 94 00 00 62 02 02 03 01 does not exists in Version
1.7 of Info.plist at

It has been added in Version 1.8. Since there are no release tags
visible, I cannot tell which muscle-framework release contains what
version of Info.plist. But if you use version 1.8 your e-gate should

You will need to add the ATR of your card in the list of ATR's in:
/usr/local/pcsc/services/MCardPlugin.bundle/Contents/Info.plist
or similar. You will also need to format your token using
MuscleTools before you can begin using it ...

I agree with Martin: if the AID is there, the card should be accepted
(it seems to me that this is part of the basic philosophy of the
proposed ISO/IEC 24727 interoperability standard which David's colleague
is working on). Later the list could discuss whether cards and even the
Muscle app should be secured by certificates that can be verified by a
CA ...
But also potential users of Muscle would be greatly helped if a
specification of required card resources and also basic access methods
(preferably to ISO/IEC 24727) could be provided. They could then give
that spec to the card vendor in order to avoid the cases where Muscle
doesn't work on the card.
