In MAC, when the daemon is called with the foreground option (with " pcscd -f " , the default option for triggering pcscd by the OS when a smart card reader is inserted ) , it gets shutdown (a proper shutdown) in about 2 minutes. While googling, I found in a list the following comment (from http://lists.apple.com/archives/apple-cdsa/2005/Aug/msg00020.html)

Based on this, I executed a script which will communicate with the card continously for about 5 minutes. Even in this scenario, the daemon gets shutdown. But, when the daemon is executed normally (without the foreground option), things go well without any problem. I am not able to find out who and why this shutdown signal is being triggered. It will be great if someone can guide me in this regard.
This issue occurs both with pcsclite 1.1.2 (the default one ) and pcsc-lite 1.2.9 beta 7
The system and pcsc details are below
