I have mentioned this in the README:
"If the configure file is not there you must run the script ./reconf "
Oops.. no time to read READMEs, sorry.
The reconf script worked for you? I have heard of strange systems where
the autoconf system complains about undefined macros why ever.
I kept having troubles until I made an update to the automake and
autoconf packages in my
Ubuntu system. It happens often that the versions of automake/autoconf
of the packager
do not match the ones of the user. AFAIK, the best thing to do is to
include the configure
script in the package. Is there any real reason forcing you to
regenerate the configure
script itself on the user machine ?
