Details a method for using the kernel 26 cm4040_cs driver and card for reading smart cards. I have one of these readers and am strugling savagely to get it to go. I finaly rolled into bed at 05:00 this morning after plugging away at it all night. I could'nt get Serge's solution to work either. It is more likely than not something daft I am doing has anyone else managed to get this card and driver working under Ubuntu Dapper ??? The driver is loaded when the card is plugged but appears to be lacking the relevant kernel/driver side bits to tell udev all the information that udev needs. The card appears in /sys/bus/pcmcia but no device appears in /dev and no class is created for the card reader. Without a device for user side apps to access it by I guess it is pretty dead. Th kernel I am running with is Linux version 2.6.15-26-686 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 4.0.3 (Ubuntu 4.0.3-1ubuntu5)) I spent a goodly part of last night playing with udev rules with debuging turned up and have pretty much eliminate the rules. Any help offered would be gratefuly apreciated. Cheers AK _______________________________________________ Muscle mailing list [email protected] http://lists.drizzle.com/mailman/listinfo/muscle
