Can you give me more details to see if the problem comes from the
application or comes from pcsc-lite?

doc/Makefile.am::datadir = $(prefix)/doc
Why not use docdir?
It looks like --docdir=... is not provided by a standard ./configure.
So I will have to add support of it in configure.in, right?
Can you provide a patch?
