Hi,

this is the first official (but the second archived) release of the
reworked driver of O2Micro SmartCard Readers for PCMCIA. See

        http://download.gna.org/o2scr/

to download the archive, then follow the README.

o2scr is based on the original code my O2Micro that was later improved
by Eric Piel [1]. Finally, I patched some remaining bugs away [2]. Now
we have some kind of stable version that at least works for certain use
cases. E.g., I am able to interact with my crypto ID card, but I fail to
use the driver with memory cards (like German medical cards).

Eric's and my plan is now

a) to maintain the 1.x series out-of-tree, update it to latest kernels,
and fix it if fixable bugs are spotted and

b) to create a rewritten driver in parallel that is able to be merged
into Linux mainline (the current driver's design is yet preventing
   this).

Feedback and other contributions are welcome!

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!
Jan
