Hi Martin,

This is how it communicates with the card. We did this so you did not have to have middleware (CSP/PKCS#11/etc) on the computer. For Windows/Mac which is over 95% of the computers the appearance is that it just works to end users rather than worrying about
what software is installed.

There are some PKI configuration reasons why we did this as well. Happy to tell you more.
