Hey there,

this is my first post to this mailing list so please forgive me any
mistakes :)

I'm developing thinclient applications for my employer, basically it's
just a stripped down linux "distribution" with all the necessary tools
installed to keep it small and clean.

Back in time, some months ago, we had the first inquiry about supporting
smartcard readers on these devices that will be used for a single sign
on solution to a citrix application farm.

That worked a treat. The only thing I had to to back then was to install
pcscd + the smartcard drivers and start the daemon, tick the "Allow
Smartcard Login" option in the citrix client and that's it.

Now we got a new SSO solution and we're evaluating again and I tried
to test this on my thinclients again but it doesn't work anymore.

Over the last few months, I updated and changed several things on the
thinclient's filesystem, including pcscd, which might be my problem now.

The new version of pcscd I have installed (1.4.102) does not work
without a running hal daemon which in turn requires dbus-daemon and I
am not sure about which one of these two, but udevd seems to be
required too.

That's a bit too much overhead currently for me, so I'm looking for
ideas about how I could add a working pcscd to my thinclient OS.

A bit of information (just tell me what else you need):
I'm currently running linux kernel 2.6.28.3, busybox 1.13.1 with mdev
instead of udev and my main repository is a Debian 5.0 workstation
I'm using for updating files and programs in the thinclient firmware.

So what I'm really interested in is either:
* The old version of pcscd
* Information about what is really needed for the latest pcscd version
  to work

Many thanks in advance,
