Hello,

I ordered the following usb sim card reader and I can't get it to work
(with Linux Ubuntu Intrepid) :

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.20169

It is claimed to be pc/sc compatible and it does not work.

I installed the pcsc package, libccid and I tested a GemPlus USB card
reader which works perfectly, but the card reader above does not work.

I'm not an expert in that domain, I'm just starting to experiment a
little bit. But I don't know what to do to go forward. I don't even know
the modele of card reader as the website does not give any information
about it. The only information I succeeded to discover are the
following.

I've done some test with ccid as mentionned in ccid documentation :

>sudo ./src/parse -p > output.txt
Parsing USB bus/device: 002/003
 idVendor: 0x096E iManufacturer: ?
 idProduct: 0x0005 iProduct: Smart Card
  Found a CCID/ICCD device

I've also found the potential manufacturer of the usb sim card reader with
lsusb :

>lsusb
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 096e:0005 Feitian Technologies, Inc.

Last information, I applied the "strings" linux command to the windows
driver files and I found that the model could be a rockey5 m

>strings *
[...]
Rockey5
F:\cvs_proj\rockey_all\rockey5\Rockey5\objfre\i386\eps2kt1.pdb
%FtSmc.DeviceDesc% = FtSmc, Rockey\R5Smc
; -------------- Rockey driver install sections
; ePass2K and Rockey5 Install Section
Rockey\R5Smc
[...]

If you can give me any piece of information in order to go forward, I
would be glad.

Ploc
