I think OpenSC now has support of the musclecard applet. The libmusclepkcs11 is not really maintained these days.
Well, from what I understand, OpenSC supports musclecard in so far as musclecards have support for PKCS15. So it's not so much that OpenSC supports them as muscle emulates an OpenSC compatible card. No?
I might go back to using straight PKCS15. The only reason I switched was because I mistakenly thought it was exposing the private key.
My FreeBSD ports are not totally worthless, though, since you need GPShell to load muscle and muscletool to format the card before opensc will talk to it.
Meanwhile, my first batch of cards I bought were ACOS5. ACS supports them on Linux, but only with binaries, so they don't do me a lot of good. I bought some javacards to replace them, but now I wonder if there is a straight PKCS15 card I could use that might be a cheaper alternative to a full Java card. _______________________________________________
