Hi, I rolled back to older versions of pcsc-lite (3.5.5) and ccid (1.3.0) as are done automatically by Synaptic Package Manager of Ubuntu 10.10. Unfortunately, the same problem exists, pcscd is not executed at boot process (even if it is at /etc/init.d), so I guess that this regression is caused by the new Ubuntu version. I'll report on it at the relevant forum.
