Hello. I hope this is the appropriate forum to ask this question, feel free to direct me to a more appropriate forum. I have pcscd working just fine on an Intel Gentoo Linux x32 system. I can read the device, access the certificates, all is wonderful. However, I have an Intel Gentoo Linux 64 bit system (known in Gentoo land as amd64) where pcscd does not work. I have seen it work once, a single time, out of all of my attempts on the 64 bit system. Additional info on that case can be found on the Gentoo Forums at http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-858068-highlight-.html I suspect, but this is only a guess, that the 'power down' timer is firing, shutting the card down before all the operations are complete. As described on http://pcsclite.alioth.debian.org/ccid.html#support , please find attached a gzipped tar archive containing files with the relevant information. I am more than happy to work with anyone or supply information to assist in the resolution of this problem. ...Lyall
