Hello, libhal has been deprecated since some time on Linux. Some people are using libusb instead just to avoid it. I now moved the hotplug mechanism from libhal to libudev. I hope libudev will last longer than libhal.
You can get a beta version of pcsc-lite from [1]. Please try it and reports issues.
