I don't know if this will be problematic with a OpenPGP v2 card. I
don't have this card so I can't test.

You can try to send the APDU 00 20 00 00 to the card (using scriptor
[2] for example) and see what you get back. This ias a VERIFY command
[1] with no PIN code.
You should get a 63Cx answer with x the number of retry left.

Can you do the test?
