Meeting Date:

        2/15/07 11:00 a.m. EST

Attendees:

        Barry Atkins
        Andrew Eberbach
        Joel Hawkins (via email)
        Dan Jemiolo
        Balan Subramanian

Topics:

1. Remaining changes needed for J2ME compliance - Barry has sent a patch
but we have not resolved some of the inconsistencies. Also need
eclipse-osgi/mini package from Joel. (10 min)

2. MUSE-194 - Can we remove the update-install script for 2.2? (5 min)

3. MUSE-193 - Can we have one JAR, or make it easy for this user to create

one? Not sure we want to have this debate again (the code was originally
in one JAR). (5 min)

4. Documentation items for 2.2 - after code freeze. (5 min)

News & Decisions:

1. Dan has applied Barry's patches, Joel has created the new OSGi bundle
just for javax.xml.namespace.QName. Team is figuring out a few more minor
details, but progress on J2ME compliance is at 99%.

2. Team reviewed options for MUSE-194 and determined the simplest approach
was to simply create one .zip file with all of the dependencies already
inside of it. This will eliminate the update-install script and provide
users with all of the Axis2/OSGi JARs they need in one download. The new
.zip file will be about 30 MB (vs. 4 MB now), so we will probably want to
document what is in the .zip file to explain its size.

3. Team reviewed request in MUSE-193. Dan pointed out that Muse 2.x
codebase used to be deployed as a single JAR, but OSGi/J2ME users and
product adopters requested modularization so they could leave out those
things they did not need or wanted to replace; the modularization was a
lot of effort, and so it should not be undone without good reason. Since
neither scenario will make all groups happy, the team decided to leave the
build as-is.

4. Dan will be assigning JIRA items for J2ME-oriented docs and all
documentation fixes/requests that have been reported on the mailing list.

If you have any questions or clarifications about these minutes, please
send them along!
