Hey Robert, that's where the sincM formula (I told you about) comes from and that's how BLIT was cranked down by Stilson using that approach. The idea of convolving the Dirichlet kernel with many filtering shapes I think came out for the first with his paper. Other formulations are Discrete Summation Formulae by Moorer, which uses the same ideas in the proof of the trigonometric functions. So funny how everything is (and must) be linked in the theory.
