Associate Professor in Music Technology (tenured)


We are happy to announce a new, tenured associate professorship at the 
Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway. The 
position is related to the music technology group with three professors and two 
associate professors. It will have an important role in building up a new 
international master’s programme in “Music, Communication and Technology” 
(https://www.ntnu.edu/studies/mct) as a joint initiative with the Department of 
Musicology at the University of Oslo.

Qualifications:
The candidate should have a broad foundation in music technology and must be 
able to demonstrate a solid scientific knowledge and research experience in 
audio signal processing and programming, with particular applications for 
music. In addition, the candidate must be able to demonstrate a solid 
scientific knowledge and research experience in one or more of the following:

- Sonification and sound design
- Spatial audio and virtual/augmented reality
- Music performance and digital musical instruments
- Interactive audio and game audio
- Interfaces for musical expression, including sensors and hardware
- Telematic performance
