There are two very important reasons for this: 1) No one wants to work on the current codebase, and rightfully so since any time that goes into modifying the UI will be wasted time as we move to the NGS UI. 2) Passing the proposal and only making it public when NGS goes live gives the developers a chance to focus on more important matters (such as getting the extremely complicated editing system up and running) before having to worry about relatively trivial matters such as this. The dev team has some excellent people on it, but they're only human and can only do so much in 24 hours. Alternatively, feel free to submit a patch yourself, but regardless while I can appreciate your concerns I think it's quite silly to demand a custom UI before you'll approve the proposal to add new release formats. There are much more pressing matters, and besides it's a bit of a chicken vs. egg thing isn't it? :) Either way, I suggest you get on test.musicbrainz.org and look at the release editor to see how the UI may be modified to handle your concerns. I can almost guarantee that stuff will get done faster if you suggest a concrete method of doing what you want instead of just asking blindly without any thought for the current UI (that's NGS-current of course). Just be aware that the release editor is still under heavy development and may not work as expected, and additionally, its UI is subject to change (which is what you want anyway). Pavan Chander
