Hi everyone,

For a while I've been working on style guideline for Japanese releases,
covering such things as capitalization of English words on releases by
Japanese artists and capitalization of transliterations.

The result can be seen here:
http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/User:Kepstin/Capitalization_Standard_Japanese
(Should this be accepted, the final resting place will
be /Style/Language/Japanese, to match the current wiki layout.)

The intent is that this will replace the infamous
http://musicbrainz.org/doc/Capitalization_Standard/Japanese_Releases_Clarification
which has, of course, never been an official guideline.

The section on capitalization of transliterations is the only thing I
expect to be contentious here. My goal is to clear up the mish-mash of
capitalization styles used on the site by imposing a standard.

I've found that existing releases in MusicBrainz and transliterations
available on other sources on the internet fall into roughly two classes
- either English style capitalization, or first-word-only capitalized.
As the first seems to be somewhat more common from the research I've
done, I've arbitrarily chosen that.

There is a link to a page titled "Transliteration Standard Japanese"
which at the moment I am not proposing becomes a guideline. It is
intended as informational only.
