Two more:
* It makes it easier for people to enter, as they can just paste the URL 
  and have it cleaned up automatically (it's quite common for people to 
accidentally link "Foo Bar" to "Foo Bar?anv=Foo" because Discogs doesn't 
make it obvious how to get a link to the main entity page)
* It makes the URLs more stable - the vast majority of the ANV links we 
have right now are broken because Discogs changed the way they work.

So +1 from me too for removing that stuff from the URLs.
