Absolutely. As you said, it doesn't even make sense on recordings. There are also a few other misc. relationships on recordings that might not make sense (photography, illustration, provided legal representation for, published), which could do with sorting out.
We'll also need to deprecate/kill a few relationship types on recording when the new definition comes in (eg. remaster, mastered by).
