To put it another way. If:
a primary AT is one that is NOT derived from other ATs a secondary AT is one that IS derived from other ATs Then you are not actually saying what a primary AT IS, and consequently cannot establish what a secondary AT is NOT. There needs to be a reference to something outside the circle which defines a primary AT, such as a signal from a mic, pickup or synth. Then a secondary AT could be defined as a signal from any other source. A representation of sound it too vague, because both primary and secondary ATs are representations of sound. It does not tell us WHICH representations of sound are primary ATs. -- View this message in context: http://musicbrainz.1054305.n4.nabble.com/RFC-STYLE-208-New-Recordings-Guidelines-tp4651054p4652279.html Sent from the MusicBrainz - Style mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ MusicBrainz-style mailing list [email protected] http://lists.musicbrainz.org/mailman/listinfo/musicbrainz-style
